Sample Book – From Concept to Production

Product Design · UX · Information Design · Production Coordination

Project Overview

The Sample Book was developed to help B2B customers explore Voigt Promotion’s textile range and identify suitable materials for different products and applications.

The concept combines technical information cards with physical fabric samples in a screw-bound format, creating a practical reference tool for customers.

The Challenge & UX Approach

The challenge was to present technical material information in a way that was easy to understand, compare and navigate.

I designed a clear information structure combining technical specifications, application icons, printing methods and certification symbols. The layout allows customers to quickly assess a material’s suitability, while physical samples provide a direct way to evaluate the fabric itself.

The cover was designed with a cut-out window to reveal the material inside. Prototyping helped refine the card dimensions, paper thickness and overall format to improve usability.

My Role

I developed the concept and format, wrote the content, designed the technical cards and created the visual system of icons and specifications. I also researched and coordinated suppliers for printing, cover production and assembly.

I arranged and reviewed prototypes, refined the design based on practical considerations, and coordinated the project through to production.

Outcome

The result was a physical product reference combining technical information and fabric samples in one organised, easy-to-use format, supporting product selection and customer communication.
